Joint theatres for Indian Armed Forces: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh


 

24th July 2022: Defence Minister of India Shri Rajnath Singh visited an event in Kashmir to celebrate the victory of the Indian Armed Forces in the Kargil war of 1999. Firstly, the minister congratulated the whole country and the Indian Armed Forces for the remarkable victory over the enemy. He further added, " Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-dependent India) is now well equipped to crush any evil eyes cast on India's territory.

He also told that Parliament has passed a resolution which clearly states that POK (Pakistan Occupied Kashmir) is an integral part of India and Indian Armed Forces could take action to reclaim the territory anytime. He also referred to the temple of Maa Sharda which is on the other side of LOC. 

Defence Minister disclosed a long-term plan to create Joint theatres for tri-services. He called it the need of the hour. India is preparing to counter the enemy in future wars using theatre commands which will be giving instructions to all three defence forces from a single channel. Joint theatres command has shown great success in China, Russia and the United States of America. 

He also compared present India with the India of 1962 when China had occupied some areas of Ladakh in a surprise attack on India. Defence Minister condemned the policies of former Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru for his policies against China. He held Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru accountable for China's victory over India in the war of 1962.
