IPL 2018 Cancelled - BCCI

National Green Tribunal (NGT) wants to cancel IPL 2018. According to them IPL matches require lakhs of litre water. Some cities like Mumbai and Delhi are not capable of providing that much of water.

NGT had already send a notice to Delhi Government , BCCI and other state governments. They demanded for their answer very soon. If all the matches from Mumbai , Pune and other cities will be transferred to Kolkata and Chennai, then these cities will also go in danger.

Central Ground water Board , Ministry of India has told that every year in IPL around 2 lakhs litres of pure water is used during the IPL matches. Some times usage of pure drinking had crossed over the limit. Due to this cities like Mumbai and Delhi had faced much problems. Due to this reason all the matches from Mumbai and Delhi was shifted to Kolkata in the IPL 2017. The IPL of 2018 may face some big problems.


Central Ground Water Board  ,Ministry of India has asked government to take a quick and right decision on this matter.


Total of 60 matches are planned in IPL 2018. These matches will require minimum of 5 lakh litre pure drinking water. This is large quantity of water. NGT has told  ,”if all the water will be used in IPL matches then what will happen of the common peoples”.

BCCI does not want to cancel the IPL. This is one of the biggest source of earning s of BCCI. Delhi government and other state government had told that they will give a suitable very soon. Fans of the IPL are waiting of the IPL matches  but what will happen if all the matches will be cancelled.

The date , time and venue of all the matches of IPL 2018 has been already fixed. Total of 60 matches will be played in the IPL 2018. It will start from 7th march and end on 27th may 2018. Venue of these matches are also fixed. Over all 10 cities are preparing for the match. This IPL will happen in 10 stadiums including Kolkata , Chennai , Delhi etc.

Government should give a quick decision for this. IPL has more fan following than any other tournament in India. Peoples are ready to die for this. There are more chances of involvement of supreme court in the matter. But if supreme court will enter in this matter ,may be decision will come early.
